More about the lessons:
Mario teaches to students of all levels, ages interested in classical music (including ABRSM Grades) and most common modern music styles like Pop, Blues, Rock, Funk, Latin, Jazz and others.
There are many sets of resources used according to students’ interests and age.
Early years
With students of 4+ years old the main resources used are the nursery rhymes, movies and cartoons soundtracks, pop/rock songs, J.Thompson and similar books, as well as simplified classical pieces and introductions to abrsm syllabus. The sessions aim to motivate the students with musical games and fun (including singing, clapping, some drawing and more) whilst developing their aural and technical skills.
Other ages
For students 8 years old and older, resources are selected according to students interests and objectives.
They are designed according to motivations such as health, career and fun.
Music sessions for health reasons (recommended to students of all ages) use music practice to improve technical skills and musical knowledge whilst paying attention to keeping body and mind in shape (memory, motor and coordination skills, posture, and more). Resources are discussed with the students and selected by Mario according to students’ needs and their musical preferences.
Sessions aiming at career development and or personal goals are designed for professionals or students that want to look at music and develop their skills more in depth. Resources include material from the most popular musicians and masters (books, masterclasses and others), professional studies from conservatoires and most important music schools around the world.
For students that are looking into music as a hobby, the resources are discussed and selected by both Mario and the student according to needs and musical objectives.
Since 1997 Mario is using his own music program and book (not yet published), which includes a collection of music practice and notions. His book is designed for students at all levels, aiming to progressively increase their technical ability and musical knowledge. His book can also be used fully or in part in all the above-described categories.
